The same year it marks its 65 th anniversary, custom molder and moldmaker GW Plastics (Bethel, Vt.) has been acquired by the Nolato Group. Headquartered in Torekov, Sweden, Nolato has injection molding, blow molding and extrusion capabilities in thermoplastics and silicone, with customers in the healthcare, automotive, and consumer electronics industries. The acquisition will add GW Plastics’ seven global factories to the more than 25 manufacturing facilities Nolato operates around the world. GW Plastics, which manufactures products for the medical device, diagnostics, drug delivery and automotive industries, has rebranded to Nolato GW. Prior to the acquisition, Nolato had only one U.S. plastics molding plant, Nolato Contour in Baldwin, Wis. It ranked No. 139 for North American injection molders in Plastics News' most recent survey, with estimated sales of $46 million. GW Plastics was the Plastics News Processor of the Year in 2009.
